Sealed proposals will be received by the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council at their mailing address of P.O. Box 54, Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, 18655, or at the Shickshinny Borough offices at the address of 35 W. Union Street, Shickshinny, PA 18655 until 1:00 pm on Wednesday February 10, 2016. Bids will be publically opened on that day, February 10, 2016, at the Shickshinny Borough offices, at 3:00 pm.

Susquehanna Warrior Trail Extension Installation/Construction
Work shall consist of (but not limited to) the following:
The Susquehanna Warrior Trail Extension project entails the preparation and construction of a non-motorized multi-use trail, approximately 2 miles in total length, from the Garden Drive in entrance in Plymouth Township to the Harvey’s Creek Bridge in West Nanticoke (also in Plymouth Township) and also a short trail gap section in Salem Township near Spencer’s Salvage Yard. The majority of construction will take place within the Right-Of-Way of UGI Penn Natural Gas and include but not be limited to the following work to be conducted in accordance with State approved construction plans and specifications: clearing, grading and surfacing of the trail path; grading and preparing appropriate drainage systems/pipes along trail corridor; fencing/gates/bollards; installation of one trailhead parking area; and installation of signage and crossings.
The project will be broken down (bidding wise) into a base bid and add/alt bids based on the overall project budget.
A digital copy (CD) of the contract and construction documents may be obtained from the Shickshinny Borough offices at 35 W. Union Street, Shickshinny, PA 18655 between the hours of 8:00 am and 1:00 pm on Wednesdays or 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. A digital copy (CD) of the contract and construction documents will be mailed upon receipt of a check which is non-refundable in the amount of $10.00 per CD, excluding shipping costs. Checks shall be made payable to Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council. If you choose to pick up contract and construction documents from the Shickshinny Borough offices, a non-refundable check in the amount of $5.00 (per CD) made payable to Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council can be left with Joan Pauley at the Borough.
Bids must be submitted upon the hard copy forms (in Appendix A) furnished by the Landscape Architect that accompany the CD containing the project contract and construction documents. Besides Appendix A, it is the responsibility of the contractor to print or reproduce any of the contract and/or construction documents contained within the CD. The successful bidding contractor will be given a full size (22×34) set of construction documents upon notice to proceed.
The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid (base bid and add/alts) made payable to the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council.
A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY JANUARY 18th, 2016, at 2:00pm, AT THE SHICKSHINNY BOROUGH MUNICIPAL BUILDING.
The Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
This project has a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 4% of the total bid (base bid and add/alts). The successful bidder must utilize to the greatest extent possible, DBE firms as certified by the Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program (PA UCP), to meet at least 4% of the bid total.
