Fallen trees are not available to the public.

Is the wood from fallen trees available for people to drive down the trail and collect? The answer is no.

The utility corridor that the trail is built on is private property. PG Energy granted the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council a 20 foot wide surface easement to build this trail and invite the public to enjoy it. We are required by this easement to post signs notifying the public that “use of the trail is prohibited by motorized vehicles”.

You will see authorized motor vehicles on the trail such as UGI, SCI Retreat, Shickshinny Sewer Authority, Susquehanna Warrior Trail Maintenance vehicles etc.. We drive to a fallen tree as a safety requirement. The people who help clear a tree are allowed to remove the wood at that time.

We have safety requirements, safety equipment, chainsaws, and a tree removal team. If you want to join this team, contact me at 570-542-4543, or llkittel@gmail.com.
